Disturbing bodycam video has captured the bloodstained aftermath of Perez Hilton’s knife livestream, an incident that led to the celebrity blogger being hospitalized.
The crisis unfolded in Miami on August 4, when Hilton began broadcasting live on TikTok and appeared to harm himself during the stream.
The broadcast lasted roughly 15 minutes before TikTok ended it. Hilton’s account has since been banned from the platform.
His sister, Barbara Lavandeira, found him in the bathroom of their home, covered in blood and holding a box cutter.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the property after concerned viewers and TikTok’s moderation team made numerous calls. Newly obtained bodycam footage shows the tense moments after emergency responders arrived.
The footage obtained by Our News Outlet, much of which has been redacted, opens with emergency crews bringing a stretcher to Hilton’s home while he remains inside.

First responders entered the property to treat Hilton as a concerned bystander watched nearby.
Hilton, 48, is blurred in the video as EMTs carry him outside. One responder can be heard saying, ‘watch his arms,’ before Hilton is placed on the stretcher.
Although Hilton himself cannot be seen clearly, blood is visible on the walls of the apartment.
A police report obtained by Our News Outlet says Hilton had been ‘suicidal’ the previous week, prompting his sister to take him to hospital ‘to get help.’
According to the report, Hilton was ‘unusually quiet’ on the day of the livestream. His sister checked on him after discovering that he had locked himself in the bathroom.
When Hilton refused to come out, she unlocked the door and found him ‘naked and covered in blood.’
Lavandeira then left the residence with her child and Hilton’s children, the report states.
The report says Hilton later came outside ‘naked and bloody’ and began ‘banging on the vehicle’s driver window.’ Police arrived shortly afterward, but Hilton ran back into the house and locked the front door.
A 911 recording of Lavandeira’s call confirms that she was with Hilton’s three young children when she found him.
She told the operator: ‘My brother is having a meltdown, he had an issue last week, he was suicidal.
‘He is all cut up and he is covered in blood. He’s awake in the bathroom.’

Lavandeira said she had ‘stepped out of the house because I had his kids with me’ and was calling 911 from her car. She added that she believed Hilton had a ‘box cutter or a knife.’

The incident came several months after Hilton moved from Las Vegas back to his hometown of Miami. At the time of the livestream, he was living there with his three young children and his mother.
Hilton was treated for lacerations and an overdose before being taken to hospital under Florida’s Baker Act. The law permits the temporary, involuntary detention of people experiencing a mental health crisis.
His family said he had suffered substantial blood loss and multiple broken bones.
‘Perez is alive, he’s getting help, and he’s surrounded by people who want to see him healthy and happy again,’ the family said in a statement.
‘Right now, those are the things that matter most.’
He remained in hospital for more than a month while receiving psychiatric care.
In September, he moved to a residential treatment facility, where he was expected to remain for ‘several more weeks’ or longer.
Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, does not have access to a phone or laptop.
His contact with friends and relatives has been limited during this important stage of his recovery.
Hilton’s three children—Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight—are living in Miami, Florida, under the temporary custody of his mother, Teresita Lavandeira.
‘His three children remain together, safe, and doing well in the care of their grandmother, who has stepped in to care for them full-time during this unexpected chapter,’ Hilton’s relatives said.

‘Our family’s priority continues to be giving them as much stability, routine, and “normalcy” as possible while their dad focuses on his recovery. We are incredibly grateful for everything their grandmother is doing for them.’
The internet personality is permitted to see his children, but the visits must be supervised by an approved relative or a therapist, TMZ reported, citing court documents.
According to the outlet, Hilton must receive ‘psychiatric clearance’ before those visits can take place.
On Tuesday, Hilton’s family and team shared an update on his recovery. PerezHilton.com published a message about the gossip blogger’s ongoing treatment, saying he had entered its ‘next phase’ in a cautiously optimistic announcement.
The update also featured a photo of Hilton’s three children trick-or-treating while their father continued treatment.
‘It’s been three months since our family began navigating this difficult time. While it hasn’t been easy, we’re grateful to have some positive news to share about Perez’s recovery,’ the statement began.
Hilton’s family and team said he had ‘transitioned into the next phase of his treatment’ in October.
