BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. — Wildlife officials are offering a clearer picture of the medical struggles Jackie, Big Bear’s cherished bald eagle, faced before her death, while also explaining what will happen next to her remains.
In an update released Tuesday, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife said Jackie died during the overnight hours of Aug. 9 at the Ojai Raptor Center, where she had been receiving intensive treatment for more than three weeks.
