A retired mathematics professor has been arrested and charged in Virginia after authorities say he fatally shot his wife, an airline meteorologist.
Fairfax County police said officers were called to a residence in Fair Oaks, where they discovered 60-year-old Chisen Jameson with gunshot injuries. Investigators said she had contacted 911 before the shooting, and audio from the emergency call captured sounds believed to be gunfire in the background, FOX 5 reported.
Leland Jameson, 64, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Jameson is a former George Mason University professor and earned his doctorate from Brown University.
