Kacey Musgraves' stage catches FIRE mid-concert in Boston

Kacey Musgraves’ Friday night concert in Boston hit an unexpected snag when a pyrotechnics moment appeared to go awry during her set.

The 38-year-old country star, currently on her Middle of Nowhere tour, was performing her 2018 fan favorite “Golden Hour” when a small fire broke out in the stage rafters above her.

The timing was hard to miss. As Musgraves sang the lyric, “you set my world on fire,” the stage was already lit up with planned sparks — before the overhead flames drew concern.

Footage caught by concertgoer Daniel Preda, @misterpreda on Instagram, showed the pro bravely keeping the audience entertained as a light fixture flickered with flames.

“That looks bad. Genuinely, something’s on fire,” she told the crowd, then joked, “I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that s**t.”

Musgraves tried to continue by speaking to the audience about the creation of her latest album, but she soon acknowledged that the fire burning several feet above her was making her anxious.

Our News Outlet contacted representatives for Musgraves for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.

‘I only like pyro when I know what’s going to happen,’ the singer-songwriter joked while remaining a good sport about the mishap.

Musgraves then jokingly asked, ‘Does anybody have a bedazzled fire extinguisher anywhere?’

Elsewhere in the show, Musgraves made sure to pay tribute to the late Dolly Parton, after the music icon died on Tuesday at age 80.

To honor the legendary Tennessee native, she performed her song Rainbow, as well as a cover of Parton’s 1977 song Here You Come Again.

Before singing, Musgraves said in a video shared on Instagram, ‘I think the most amazing thing about all this is not anybody mentioning the Grammys [Parton won], the accolades, or any of that.

‘It’s what a humanitarian [Parton was].’

Fans erupted in cheers before Musgraves said the late star was ‘someone always looking out for someone else, looking out for the underdog, even when it probably wasn’t easy, even when it didn’t benefit her career.’

‘And damn, we can all learn a lot from someone like that, you know?’ she added. ‘It feels weird to grieve a celebrity, right? But she’s woven into the fabric of who we’ve always been, so it just feels extra sad.’

The Mexico Honey hitmaker captioned the clip, ‘Rest in rhinestones, Dolly.’

Ironically, a lyric in the song is 'you set my world on fire,' and the stage was aglow with orchestrated sparks as she performed the track

She also noted in an addendum written in the comments that she ‘had to fully disassociate to get thru this tbh.’

‘Comforted knowing her bones and soul are even more integrated into the starry fabric of the universe than they already were,’ she noted.

‘A once-in-a-lifetime supernova of a being,’ she added before repeating, ‘Rest in rhinestones, Dolly.’

Upon hearing the news of Parton’s passing, Musgraves previously took to X to mourn the loss across several posts.

‘Dolly,’ she typed, adding a broken heart emoji. ‘This really really hurts.’

She then tweeted, ‘The world feels a lot less sparkly all of a sudden.’

Finally, she referenced Parton’s late husband as she wrote, ‘So glad she’s finally with her Carl Dean. No one talk to me today.’
