Police are looking for a suspect accused of randomly punching a subway rider in the face at a Queens station last week, authorities said.
The incident happened around 3:20 p.m. Thursday as a 65-year-old man was entering the turnstiles at the Sutphin Blvd-Archer Avenue subway station in Jamaica, according to the NYPD.
An unidentified person approached the man, struck him in the face and then ran from the station on foot, police said.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.
Investigators released images of the suspect, who was seen wearing a white T-shirt, a green baseball cap and a dark-colored backpack.
The attack comes about a month after another 65-year-old man was shoved onto a subway platform while riding a northbound 1 train at the 28th Street station in the early morning hours of June 2.
Anyone with information about Thursday’s assault is asked to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or the Spanish-language line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
