A homeless woman who had already been barred from President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was arrested after police said she returned to the exclusive Palm Beach property and trespassed again.
Li Hua Stevens, 65, a native of China, allegedly walked past a large sign reading “RESTRICTED AREA: NO TRESPASSING” on Saturday and moved through the sprawling Florida estate while pushing a heavy utility cart filled with her belongings, according to CBS 12. Secret Service agents later spotted her on the property.
Trump was not at Mar-a-Lago when the incident occurred. He was spending the weekend in Washington, DC, where he golfed and attended the Freedom 250 Grand Prix.
Palm Beach Police had previously warned Stevens to stay away from the club after a similar trespassing incident on May 2. At that time, she was instructed not to return to “all Mar-a-Lago properties,” according to an arrest report obtained by the Palm Beach Post.
Stevens was booked on a misdemeanor trespassing charge and is being held on a $2,000 bond, according to jail records.
The Mar-a-Lago arrest follows another recent case involving Stevens in Palm Beach. Court records obtained by CBS 12 show she was arrested June 30 after surveillance footage allegedly captured her defecating in a public garden and leaving behind soiled toilet paper and other trash.
Police said Stevens admitted to the incident after officers showed her the video. Town officials estimated the cleanup cost at roughly $500.
